JAMCO Engineering developed nearly all mechanical systems for the worlds’ first FAA certified EDS system, from R&D prototype thru production release, culminating in the CTX-5500 airport baggage scanner, sold worsdwide since 1995. The CTX-5500 is an industrial style CT scanner with an 800mm inspection circle and high performance, sheilded baggage conveyor. It is a highly reliable, robust design and inexpensive to manufacture. This large CT system measures 4.3M X 2.7M, masses nearly 4 tonnes and is capable of 24/7 operation continuously. Maxmum throughput is rated at >600 bags per hour. All prototypes and the first 2 production units were built by JAMCO Engineering.
